The Special Mission - The Bloody Mist (Kenny and Darrell only)

"Hideki and Hiei have both proven themselves worthy of an B-rank mission, being that it is only reconnaissance. Once they meet up with the rest, it becomes an A-Rank mission. It'll be tough. Both the Stone and Mist have powerful ninja that will give quite a fight. But that information can't afford to get out."

The Third Hokage let out a puff from his pipe and stared into the emotionless ANBU mask across from him. The ANBU turned his gaze to another two cloaked ANBU in the shadow. He nodded and they disappeared with the wind. Hideki then finds an ANBU approach him, telling him the Hokage wishes to see him. Hiei does as well.

They are brought to the Hokage's mansion and enter his room now.

Hedeki hurriedly makes his way for the Hokage's mansion. He wasn't sure what he was needed for, but he knew the last time he was there it was to discuss the death of a comrade. He enters the doorway waiting to be invited. "You wanted to see me lord Hokage?"

As Hideki enters, the ANBU next to the Hokage disappears in a puff of smoke.

"Ah good, Hideki, I'm glad to see you. I have an important mission for you and Hiei to complete. You will be teamed up with Inoichi of Ino-Shika-Cho. You and him are to work in tandem for this mission. Here is a scroll with all of the mission specs."

The third passes forward a red, bound scroll forward across his desk. It has the marking of a B-rank mission on it.

Hiei eagerly made his way to the Mansion. He's always hungry for a new competitor, a new test of his mettle. Not fond of conventional entry, he quietly made his way up the buildings side and perched himself in the Hokage's Office window.

"Ah, it's good to see you too Hiei" the hokage says without turning his head. "I'm glad you arrived so soon. Now all we need is Inoichi."

Hedeki wasn't sure to open the scroll now or later. He had never been given the mission scroll directly. Furthermore he wasn't sure he had heard anything about Inoichi before either. Hedeki sat in wonder of what was presumably the missions leader.

"Go ahead, open the scroll. It has details on your targets and your objectives. We're having you track some diplomats heading towards the Hidden Stone, our current adversaries as you know. We believe them to be diplomats from the Hidden Mist, coming to join forces. So with that, we're sending Inoichi as a sensor, you as a tracker, and Hiei as a helping hand" the hokage explained.

He ran his hand through his goatee and gave Hedeki a very serious look. He let out a puff of his pipe before continuing.

"It is more than likely heavily guarded, and we want you to take the upmost caution. Considering the importance of this meeting, the Mist has probably sent several high ranking ninja."

"Of course Lord Hokage." Hedeki said, hesitantly opening the mission scroll, and half suspecting a trap. Hedeki tried to focus past the feeling of the Hokage's watchful eyes, and reads the scroll. Hedeki is careful to spot names he may have heard of.

Hedeki opens the scroll and sees that only one of the pictured men is named Uki Kasu, a high ranking Mist noble who is acting as the diplomat. He is known for his business as crafter of medicinal herbs, though his questionable business practices of course causes this to lead into poisons. The other men however are unknown, two of which looking like standard mist shinobi, but one looks quite different. With a braided beard and the top of his head above his headband bandaged wrapped, he's quite an imposing figure.

Hedeki didn't like doing a mission on so little information, but supposed that's what they were here for, reconnaissance. "And this is all we know about them for certain? I suppose we won't be engaging these targets will we? Hedeki passes the scroll to Hiei.

"We'd prefer you to keep a safe distance from the targets until we can gauge their strength" the hokage says with a nod, "however, whenever you do meet up with the other team that we'll send out tomorrow, you'll be tasked with breaking up and eliminating the meeting."

You hear a panting behind you as a young man with spiky blonde hair runs up the stairs and enters the room. He takes a deep breath and composes himself.

"Inoichi Yamanaka reporting Lord Hokage!" the man exclaims, bowing to the hokage.

Hedeki ran his eyes over the figure. He wondered if someone so seemingly out of shape were fit to lead such a delicate mission. "And you are the one who will be leading the mission?" Hedeki tried to speak with a stoic demeanor. (Skill points have been redistributed from Control Chakra as you said) "When do we start?"

Inoichi looked over at Hedeki and nodded.

"Yes, I'm the one in charge of the mission. I'm a bit out of my element working outside my normal trio, but I'm glad to get the chance to work with a Hyuuga. I've also heard some stuff about you, especially about the Chunin exams." Inoichi explained. You notice that his breath came back quickly and he seems more composed now.

The hokage passes a scroll to Inoichi.

"Now, I want you to leave this evening and head out for the border of Konoha and the Hidden Grass Village. There you are to wait for diplomat team to arrive and begin your reconnaissance. After they arrive in the Hidden Stone, you are to backtrack and meet up with Team 2, who should arrive that time." the hokage explains. "We will also provide you three with cloaks and masks to protect your identity. We'd rather not have vendettas on three valuable ninja."

Judged him too quickly. Hedeki thought* with some relief. He would rely on Inoichi's superior field experience. Unfortunately Hedeki was out of his element as well, and it would seem he would need to practice a more subtle approach this time. "I would rather you forgot whatever you heard about the chuunin exams. I gravely underestimated my opponent, something I hope not to do while in the field. At any rate, we should begin preparations?" Hedeki bowed to Lord Hokage. "Will that be all lord Hokage?"


(He appears to be taking his usual approach as the speechless creep. So I guess he will eventually.)

Inoichi laughed when Hedeki said to forget about the Chunin Exams.

"Despite your fight with Nikita, I understand that fought well against Uri and the recently defected Orochimaru. That is what I'm really expecting to see in these next few days" the man explained.

"Yes, you should go prepare yourselfs for the next few days. Remember that you will be going straight from this mission into another, so prepare for that as well. Now if you excuse," the hokage explains, "there is another meeting I must get to."

The Hokage rises from his chair and heads for the door.

Having nearly beaten Uri once by himself, and again with his comrades, Hedeki was glad to know his efforts were noticed if nothing else. All of this reminded him of his sensei. He would be wary of mistakes this time. Hedeki bowed and left to pack extra food, water, and a change of clothes. The thought of why the Hidden Mist would need a business man, even one dealing with poison, was beyond him.

"We'll meet back at the main gate around 6 PM" Inoichi states before heading on his own way.

It is a warm fall day in the hidden leaf around 3 PM. This gives you three hours to prepare yourselves for the coming mission. As well, at your homes you find a package that holds a black travel cloak and an blank mask.

"Yes Sir." Hedeki called down the road, and continued on to his house. When they said he would get a mask he had no idea how ominous it would be. "This thing need whiskers or something." Hedeki smiled. "What do I do with three hours?" He contemplated gathering the trips supplies, or rather what he could gather from his small apartment. "Do I even need three?" Hedeki realized he was talking to himself and gave a blank stare into the wall before deciding to enjoy one more meal before going into hostile territory. Hedeki promptly makes his was to his favorite place for some pre-mission curry.

Hiei wastes no time gathering a weeks worth of supplies, and heading directly to the village gate for an early start.

As you enter your favorite restaurant, the young, female clerk recognizes Hedeki and waves to you.

"Hey Hedeki, good to see you again. How can I help you?" She askes sweetly.

Hedeki smiles for the usual light atmosphere. "Hello there! Red curry please, and make it toxicly hot." Hedeki already dreads leaving the smell of the market place for where ever his mission will lead him. From dry wasteland to murky swamp. He sighed with regret. I'll just have to make sure to make it back.

"No problem, that'll be 5 ryo" the clerk exclaims happily.

After a few minutes, the curry comes to the table you have chosen. The clerk also hands you glass of milk.

"You're gonna need it Hedeki" she says, winking at you.

As Hiei is heading toward the gate, a voice calls to you from an alleyway.

Hiei lazily glances over the alleyway.

Instant regret fills Hedeki as his mouth lights ablaze with liquid fire, only half through the plate and several glasses of milk have run bone dry. "I-I yield." Hedeki lays his teared eye in one of  his hands, with the other hand removing a tip and preparing to leave the shop. "Best curry ever." He laughs.

Hedeki makes his way to the gate.

A man in a black cloak with an ANBU mask looks at Hiei from the alley before tossing him a small scroll.

"Enjoy. It's from friends" the cloaked man says before disappearing.

The clerk beams a smile at Hedeki as he leaves.

"Make sure you come back now. We can't go on without one of our favorite customers" she shouted after him.
